START HOSTING PROGRAM IN YOUR CITY
The Host a Child Project is committed to bringing as many children as possible to the United States for the hosting experience. You can help.
We are looking for people who are passionate about children, families, hosting and adoption. The goal of the Host a Child Project is to provide an opportunity for orphans to experience the adventure of traveling to the U.S.
The role of the local coordinator for the Host a Child Project is a BIG one. The job includes:
- recruiting host families through a variety of outreach and marketing strategies
- finding donations in the community to help with expenses
- answering the many questions prospective host families always have
- helping families gather required paperwork
- sharing information with families and the community about the program procedures and expectations
- coordinating activities for the families and children during the hosting period
- working closely with Hosting Coordinator to coordinate all aspects of the Host a Child Project
We know it sounds like a lot of work. But we also know it is doable. Some local coordinators like to pull in their friends to share the load. Others carry the whole load. The staff at the Host a Child Project will be there with you every step of the way with both practical and emotional support.
It's a big job to ask of a volunteer. In some cases, we will be able to negotiate some form of compensation. So please send an email with resume, or informal description of your qualifications, to Vinola Humphrey, Host Program Coordinator, at info@hostachild.com
